We prepare our church every year for Christmas with numerous decorations donated by
volunteers that work very hard to make the Birth of Jesus an exceptional time for our
members. Above Father Benito, Kathleen Saenz and Sierra Contreras pose in 2008
with the life size Nativity set that is refreshed and set up every year.
CCD students play act the Virgen De Guadalupe and Juan Diego to celebrate the event
on December 12th 2008.
Deacan Garza assists Bishop Carmody in placing oil on the forehead of a confirmation
recipient in April of 2009. Behind are two of our new Altar Servers and Father Benito.
Students (Elizondo and Saenz) are part of the cast that portrayed Juan Diego in his part
and story told about our Virgen De Guadalupe.
Holy week begins with Deacan Garza assisting Faher Benito in the Blessing of the Bread. This occurs
every year on Thursday 7:00pm mass of Holy week.
Every year on Holy week Father Benito preforms the washing of the feet on twelve of the
male parish members. This is done on Thursday at 7:00pm mass.
Holy Week, Eucharistic Ministers come in to church in procession and stay for silent prayers to
prepare for Good Friday, which is a day of lighting candles every hour on the hour starting at 7:00am.
Church organizations take part in a scheduled vigil that is open to the public.
