I moved away from San Diego with my parents when I was 15. I miss my home town so much. I visit my grandparent's graves in San Diego and go by the church. It is very beautiful and I loved seeing it on my computer. It is a great website.

If anyone has pictures depicting our church or stories about any part of our beautiful church's history, please share with us. Contact Tina Saenz at this site. Presently I am trying to secure permission to publish some snippet or short articles from the archives of the Sisters of Divine Providence during their stay here from 1937-1962.

What a beautiful tribute to what was "my church" while I grew up in San Diego. I've got so many wonderful childhood memories of the church, the Parachial Hall, the nuns that used to teach catechism, and the outdoor bingos! I also feel especially moved by this website since my Mom and Dad, Elma and Chochoro, devoted their lives to being active members of St Francis De Paula in order to serve the Lord. With Mom's gift of music ministry, may I suggest perhaps a link with some of the favorite and beautiful songs sung during the English and Spanish masses? Amazing job on the website in either case!!

This brought back a lovely memory of when I was a child growing up in San Diego. I remember Father Epi and how he emphatically used his words and how passionately he spoke The Word of God. I remember Miss Angelita and being in a Christmas play. Also, going to Bingo and playing "Chalupa" with my grandmother. Thank you for taking the time to set up this website. - Edna Almaraz

Enjoyed your website. Brings back lots of memories. Will share with my father in law Trinidad Solis who misses his hometown and friends. He is ill and on his way to a speedy recovery we hope. Please, all that know him say a prayer for him. Thank You

Great job on the website, Tina! It is a great resource, as well as providing a walk down memory lane for many of us. Many people who have visited our church say it is one of the most beautiful churches they have ever seen.
